Maybelline Color Tattoo Review

Hi guys, a quick review here of a popular product you may know.

A couple of weeks ago, Priceline had a half price sale on all Maybelline products. I had been eyeing the Color Tattoos for a while but never really got around to buying them.

I went into Priceline randomly and saw that they were only 6 dollars each during the sale, so I took that opportunity by the horns and bought 4! The colours I bought were Too Cool, Barely Branded, Inked in Pink and Tough as Taupe. This is what they look like.

The lid has a sticker which tells you the name of that colour.

Here are some swatches for your viewing pleasure :)

With flash - top to bottom: Too cool, Barely Branded, Inked in Pink, Tough as Taupe.

Without flash.

The packaging says they last for 24 hours. I don't know about that, but I can say that after a drunken night of shenanigans, Taupe didn't budge all the way into the wee hours of the morning.

The consistency varies between colours as well. Taupe blends very easily, as does Inked in Pink, but I had a bit of trouble getting an even finish with Barely branded. It somehow looked a little bit patchy. I'm not sure whether it was the primer I used or maybe I put too much on my lids, but it wasn't as smooth as the others.

However, Barely Branded did make for a good base for a golden eyeshadow. I placed Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked palette on top and it intensified the shadow like no other. In fact all of these Colour tattoos would make great bases. They are quite similar to MAC paintpots in that sense.

What are your opinions on the Color Tattoo line? Which is your favourite?

xx
